In honor of Veterans Day, representatives from local veterans organizations joined the staff at Shore Memorial Hospital in recognizing hospitalized veterans for their service to their country.
The visits are a tradition that Shore Memorial has carried on for the past five years.
“I believe that our organization is able to do the things that it does for the community because of the sacrifices of the men and women who serve our country each and every day,” said Shore Memorial Vice President/Chief Information Officer Fred Banner, who organized the event.
On Thursday, November 11, Shore Memorial volunteers and staff members helped identify veterans who were inpatients at the hospital and decorated their doors with American flags. Members of the American Legion Riders, Post 352 in Somers Point and the Somers Point Veterans of Foreign Wars then spent the afternoon visiting the veterans and thanking them for their service.
