Four More COVID-19 Deaths in County

To date, 242 Atlantic County residents have died from the coronavirus.

Atlantic County public health officials confirmed today the deaths of four residents from complications of COVID-19, three of whom were residents of long-term care facilities.

They included a 71-year-old Atlantic City man, an 80-year-old Hammonton man, and two Northfield residents, an 82-year-old woman and a 97-year-old man.

The county also reported 18 more residents who have tested positive for the disease among 10 males, ages 2-60 and eight females, ages 5-75.

Atlantic City, Mullica Township and Pleasantville each had four of the new cases while Ventnor had two. Absecon, Egg Harbor Township, Hammonton and Linwood each had one new positive.

Additionally, there were 21 more residents cleared as recovered for a countywide total of 1,330 of the 2,622 cumulative cases. There have been 186 deaths related to Covid-19 to date.

Atlantic County will continue to provide testing by appointment for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription on Tuesday, June 23 in Northfield behind the public works yard at Rt. 9 (New Road) and Dolphin Avenue.
