For consistently delivering outstanding person-centered service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s mission, vision and values, Shore announced that maintenance supervisor and chief electrician Jim Crawford, of its plant operations department, was named the medical center’s October 2018 Employee of the Month.

Crawford has been a devoted and loyal Shore employee since joining the organization in 1984. He began his career with Shore Medical Center located in Somers Point as a mechanic, then moved to the electrical shop and obtained his electrical contractor license in 1992.

Bob Robertson, administrative director of logistics and finance, says that Crawford is an immensely talented electrician and go-to-guy at Shore.

“Jim is always available during emergencies, every hour of the day or night,” Robertson noted. “He is devoted to making our patients, staff, visitors and the hospital building safe. Jim always leaves a job complete and does not accept shortcuts.”

Crawford’s efforts are also deeply appreciated by the clinical staff, including Quinn Guariglia, a nurse and clinical educator at Shore.

“It takes a team to make the hospital run smoothly, and Jim’s patience, perseverance and kindness are a true asset and a clear example of the Spirit of Shore,” says Guariglia.  “Although Jim is not a clinical staff member, he goes above and beyond to support his fellow employees and deliver person-centered care.”

Crawford says he has always enjoyed his job and feels honored to be selected as Employee of the Month. A resident of Somers Point, Crawford enjoys fishing, boating and spending time with his family, including his wife, Lisa, his daughter, Julie, and his granddaughter, Aiyanna.
