William E. “Will” Reynolds was sworn-in for a five-year term as Atlantic County Prosecutor Tuesday, a day after the NJ Senate unanimously confirmed his appointment as Atlantic County’s top cop. Assignment Judge Michael Blee presided over the ceremony, with Reynold’s 12-year-old sons, George and Robert holding the Bible.

Reynolds, who formerly served as Ventnor solicitor and as municipal prosecutor in numerous Atlantic County communities, has been serving as Acting Prosecutor since the beginning of June after NJ Gov. Phil Murphy nominated him for the post.

NJ Sen. Vincent Polistina (R-2) advocated for his appointment, calling him “the right pick for the job.”

Erik M. Bergman was also sworn-in as First Assistant Prosecutor by his brother, Superior Court Judge Stanley Bergman.

Following the ceremony, the entire legal staff of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office took the oath of office administered by Presiding Judge Bernard E. DeLury.
