Come out to learn how to waste less and save more money. Fun exhibitors and demonstrations will be a part of Somers Point’s Green Day celebration on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Jordan Road School cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you bring an old T-shirt, learn how to turn it into a reusable bag—or just get instructions and do it at home. Attendees to the free event will also learn how and why to make a rain barrel, how repairing is better than replacing, and why reusable packaging is best.

ACUA, AmeriCorps, Tupperware, and local businesses will be there. The event includes a rain barrel demonstration, make your own reusable bag, recycled art projects, kids’ poster making, and basic green living tips.

The event is hosted by the Somers Point Green Team and Somers Point School District Green Team.
