Gateway Playhouse

Shaken Not Stirred Players brings the Stephen Sondheim and George Furth Musical Comedy to the Gateway Stage. The story revolves around Bobby (single and unable to commit fully to a steady relationship), the five married couples who are his best friends, and his three girlfriends.

4th Annual Art in the Park

Saturday, June 15 – 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

John F. Kennedy Park

The Somers Point Arts Commission presents the 4th annual Art in the Park at John F. Kennedy Park. Art in the Park features the work of a number of local and regional, professional and amateur artists for exhibit and sale; and a “plein aire” painting competition by artists painting on location.

Prizes will be awarded to both professional and amateur artists; attendees to the event will vote for the People’s Choice Award. Additional fun-filled attractions will include interactive art experiences for adults and children, entertainment yoga and face painting. Food vendors include Jay’s Crab Shack, Upper Sandwiches, Maui Joe’s Shaved Ice, and Mr. Ice Cream Man. The event is free and open to the public. Kennedy Park provides handicapped parking and additional assistance will be provided by request two weeks prior to the event by emailing somersptarts@gmail.com.

The Art in the Park event is made possible through the NJ State Council for the Arts/Dept. of State, Partner Agency of the NEA through the Local Arts Grant/Atlantic County Office of Cultural Affairs.

Somers Point celebrates summertime with its 27th Annual Somers Point Beach Concert Series starting Friday, June 21. The concert series, running until September 6 every Friday at 7 p.m. during the summer, is celebrating 27 years of great music and memories.

The concert series is free to attend and takes place in front of the beautiful backdrop of William Morrow Beach and the Municipal Beach Park, located in between Higbee and New Jersey Avenues in Somers Point. A special Independence Day Weekend is scheduled with a concert on Thursday, July 4.

Attendees can look forward to performances by several award-winning international recording artists from a variety of different genres, including Country, Blues, Jazz and Classic Rock, among others.

Friday, June 21: Kick-off the 27th Annual Somers Point Beach Concert Series with Jethro Tull’s Martin Barre.
