For consistently delivering outstanding person-centered service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s mission, vision and values, Shore is proud to announce that exercise physiologist Mark Zaleskiewicz, of its cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation department, was named the medical center’s December 2018 Employee of the Month.

Zaleskiewicz has been a dedicated caregiver at Shore for nearly 20 years. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated unwavering compassion and understanding toward the patients in his care.

He steps up to serve his coworkers and patients whenever needed, and is considered a leader and positive role model throughout the hospital, especially through his involvement on the medical center’s Safety Committee.

Chris Kozmor, director of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, says that Zaleskiewicz’s dedication to the program exemplifies Shore’s commitment to excellence and patient-centered care.

“Many of our patients come to cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation reluctant to start the program, but Mark welcomes them with open arms and helps create a warm and friendly atmosphere they come to love,” Kozmor said. “Patients have often said that Mark is positive, nurturing yet professional, and attentive.”

Zaleskiewicz was very surprised to be honored as Employee of the Month and is grateful to be recognized for his work.

“I enjoy helping people achieve a greater quality of life despite their conditions,” Zaleskiewicz says.

A resident of Mays Landing, Zaleskiewicz enjoys running, coaching distance runners, model railroads and spending time with his wife, Karen, and their son, Spencer, and daughter, Madisen.

Shore Medical Center is located in Somers Point.
