For consistently delivering outstanding patient-centered service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s mission, vision and values, Shore, located in Somers Point, announced that Bonnie Shea-Hamilton of its Finance Department has been named the medical center’s September 2018 Employee of the Month.
Shea-Hamilton has worked in the finance department for her entire 30-year career with Shore, providing outstanding support to her team. However, she’s also equally known for her volunteerism at the hospital’s fundraising events.
From the horse shows of the past, to the most recent gala, A Cause to Celebrate, she is always there to manage the flow of donations at each event, and often goes above and beyond to help with any other needs that may arise.
Her dependability, expertise and attention to detail helps each event run smoothly and provides guests with an exceptional experience. On a more personal level, Shea-Hamilton also generously shared her story as a patient of Shore Cancer Center for the fundraising team’s annual appeal letter.
Through all of her efforts, it’s safe to say Shea-Hamilton has helped the medical center raise millions of dollars over the course of her career.
Rob Wood, director of finance for Shore Medical Center, says Shea-Hamilton gives 100 percent to her work.
“Beyond the support Bonnie provides to Shore’s fundraising efforts, she insisted on maintaining her work schedule with little interruption while she was being treated by the Cancer Center,” Wood said. “We are very fortunate to have a reliable person like Bonnie who is committed to providing only the best.”
Shea-Hamilton says she loves working at Shore Medical Center.
“My coworkers have been my extended family. I’m very proud of being part of the growth of Shore over the past 30 years. It’s an honor to be recognized by my fellow employees,” Shea-Hamilton said.
A resident of Egg Harbor Township, Shea-Hamilton is the proud mom of three daughters and “mi-mom” to seven grandchildren, with whom she enjoys spending time regularly.
Outside of work, Shea-Hamilton also enjoys making and selling tutus for her side business, Nanny Lala’s Dress Up Box. She enjoys traveling and volunteering.
