Shore Medical Center recognized nurse aide Ana Lazaro of the 5th Stainton unit as its September 2018 Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients.
The Guardian Angel Program was established to enable members of the community to say thank you to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center.
Lazaro joined Shore Medical Center’s 5th Stainton team in 2001 after serving at Shore Care, its former home-health agency.
Elaine Toolsie, MSN, RN, CNRN, nurse manager of 5th Stainton, says Lazaro is humble, yet committed and passionate about the care she provides Shore’s patients.
“Ana is reliable, always eager to work, and a consummate team player,” Toolsie says.
Recently a patient Lazaro cared for made a Grateful Patient donation in her honor and had this to say about her: “Ana would brighten my day when I was feeling down. She always made sure I was comfortable and happier.”
Originally from Peru, where she worked as a CPA, Lazaro now lives in Linwood and is married with two children. She loves to cook and spend time with her family.
The Guardian Angel program recognizes anyone who works at Shore Medical Center and makes an impact and difference in patient care. Guardian Angels are recognized amongst their peers and are presented with a special Guardian Angel pin at Shore Medical Center’s annual pinning ceremony.
