For consistently delivering outstanding patient-centered service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s Mission, Vision and Values, Shore is proud to announce that Materials Management Buyer Jean Totoro of Atlantic City has been named the medical center’s October 2017 Employee of the Month.
Totoro came to Shore Medical Center in 2006 as a purchasing assistant and transitioned to her role as buyer in 2008. As buyer, Totoro is responsible for ordering products required by every department in the medical center, from the store room to the operating room. Her diligence and follow through ensure everyone has the tools and products necessary to perform their jobs.
Totoro is described by her colleagues as a team player who is dependable and unflappable, always wanting what is best for her department and the medical center.
Shore Business Delivery Specialist Jim Hurd, who nominated Totoro for the award, says he feels especially fortunate to be able to count on Totoro every day.
“I truly appreciate how she handles the countless requests I have with needed supplies,” Hurd says.
Totoro is humbled by the honor.
“Shore is a great place to work. I enjoy the opportunity to work with all the different departments. I am grateful to have been nominated by my great group of coworkers.”
Totoro lives in Atlantic City with her husband. Together they have two grown children. She enjoys reading, going to the beach and walking on the boardwalk.
