Shore Medical Center in Somers Point is proud to recognize Phlebotomy and Laboratory Assistant Teneka Olivo, CPT, of Pleasantville, as its August Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients.
The Guardian Angel Program was established to enable members of the community to say thank you to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center.
Olivo has been working at Shore for 13 years and according to Tina Angelo, Phlebotomy and Lab Assistant Supervisor, she is the epitome of happiness.
“Teneka is one-of-a-kind, caring, passionate and always bubbly. She truly loves training staff both in the lab and throughout the hospital,” Angelo said. “Her coworkers describe her as ‘effervescent’, ‘energetic’, and ‘engaging’, among many other positive attributes.”
Recently, a patient Olivo cared for made a Guardian Angel donation in her honor, and had this to say about her:
“I recently was at Shore for Outpatient Testing and met Teneka. I appreciated the care she gave me and the kindness she showed me.”
Olivo enjoys many activities including shopping online, eating, arts and crafts and caring for her dog, Cocoa.
She is proud of all of her children and grandchildren and would like to especially recognize her son Hector who has served the country as a United States Marine.
The Guardian Angel program recognizes anyone who works at Shore Medical Center and makes an impact and difference in your care or experience. Guardian Angels are recognized amongst their peers and are presented with a special Guardian Angel pin at Shore Medical Center’s annual pinning ceremony.
