Police responded to the Somers Point Apartments, 50 Mays Landing Road, on Monday at 12:15 a.m. for reports of shots being fired.
While responding, officers received information of a white SUV leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. Officers located and stopped the vehicle at Pennsylvania Avenue and New Road.
The vehicle was occupied by a 33-year-old male who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit with non-life-threatening injuries, Somers Point police said in a press release posted on their Facebook page.
At this time, the suspect or suspects have not been identified. This is an ongoing investigation, the release said.
