The Diabetes Training Camp Foundation announced that Jon Dorenbos will be the special guest and keynote speaker at the fourth annual Come Experience the Magic fundraising benefit at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Nov. 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Dorenbos, a former two-time Pro Bowl Philadelphia Eagle and now a sleight-of-hand magician and performer, will share his message about the importance of a positive attitude and perseverance with benefit attendees, while wowing them with magic tricks and illusions.

“I’m excited to be with and inspire the Diabetes Training Camp warriors and their supporters,” Dorenbos said in a news release.  “Living with the challenges of diabetes is tough and resilience is key to living their best life. I’m looking forward to sharing my message of overcoming challenges and living with mental toughness, while also doing some pretty cool magic.  I encourage everyone to come out for a great celebration.”

The fundraiser will be held in the Hollywood Ballroom at the Atlantic City Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The evening includes a cocktail reception, dinner and drinks, a keynote speech by Dorenbos, and a silent auction and other surprises.

Funds raised at Come Experience the Magic will go to offering full and half scholarships to the community of people living with diabetes and creating more life-changing programming for adults and teens living with type one diabetes and adults living with type two diabetes.

“Diabetes Training Camp Foundation is dedicated to empowering the community living with diabetes to live their best life and thrive,” said Dr. Matthew Corcoran, founder and CEO of the Diabetes Training Camp. “The donations raised at our annual fundraiser are vital to our efforts to reach as many people as possible and give them to tools to manage their diabetes and achieve their goals.  Diabetes does not have to be a limiter.”

Jon Dorenbos played 14 seasons in the NFL, notably making the Pro Bowl twice as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2016, Jon competed on America’s Got Talent where he showcased his skills as a sleight-of-hand magician, making it to the finals and placing third overall in the competition amongst tens of thousands of competitors.

He then put his talent on display as a guest on Ellen, who quickly became one of his biggest fans and advocates. Jon has appeared on Ellen’s show in various capacities as well as on The Today Show.

He retired from the NFL after he was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition requiring emergency open-heart surgery.
