With the start of a new school year and the need to access online materials greater than ever, Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson reminds students and teachers that the Atlantic County Library System is available with programs and resources that go far beyond books.

“September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, a perfect time to explore all that the Atlantic County Library System has to offer,” Levinson said.

A library card provides students of all ages the tools to succeed with access to technology, research and databases, early literacy programs, virtual homework assistance and more.

“Many may find a library card to be one of their most important school supplies,” Levinson said. “And it doesn’t cost a penny.”

Atlantic County library branches also offer free WiFi, mobile printing capability, copiers, scanners and fax machines, as well as the use of computers in 30-minute intervals.

All nine branches of the library system are now open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with curbside pickup also available Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Patrons are asked to wear face masks and observe social distancing and recommended health protocols.

Residents may sign up for a library card in-person or register to receive a temporary card for digital access only at: atlanticlibrary.org/librarycard.
