Eric Weschke leads by example, using the knowledge and skills he has learned in a financial services career that has spanned 30 years, to help his clients reach their goals.

A second-generation finance professional, Weschke’s mother, Catherine Montana, was one of the first women to work on the floor of the U.S. Stock Exchange in the late 60s. His father ran the engineering department at Suffolk College. Growing up in a very math-oriented family, he had a strong financial education from a young age.

As president and CEO of Advanced Folio Capital Management, Weschke guides families and individuals in navigating volatile markets with confidence so that they can achieve long-term financial security.  His extensive background in institutional investment theory and comprehensive financial planning with a focus on tax-efficient retirement income solutions, asset protection, and risk management, offers clients expertise they can trust.

The firm operates with transparency in mind, giving clients a clear picture of their financial options without confusing jargon or complex industry terms.  With each new client, Weschke and his team conduct an in-depth discovery process, taking time to understand their unique financial goals, fears, and hopes for the future.

Experience and Trust Build Client Relationships

Building long-lasting relationships with clients is essential for Weschke; he maintains strong, trusted relationships by being in constant communication with clients. He is able to achieve this high level of communication by setting goals that help him evaluate the type of families the firm serves, and looking at how many new clients the firm is taking on at any point in time to make sure they are getting the best communication and service possible at all times.

He believes that nothing can replace a personal relationship with a trusted advisor who truly understands your goals and objectives. “The results are highly personalized strategies for each of our clients. By monitoring activity on a weekly basis we can see how our efforts and talents are being utilized and make sure that our activity does not lead to a communication letdown with any of our potential clients as well as current clients,” Weschke explains. In the complicated and ever-changing world of finance, those personalized plans create a sense of security and trust for clients.
The plans Advanced Folio Capital Management prepares for clients address both growth and stability across all life stages. His approach to retirement planning includes practical solutions to sustaining income during retirement.

Continuing Education and Learning

For Eric Weschke, there are no shortcuts. Being an expert in each area of importance is key to making sound, impactful decisions, he says. That means continual education and learning. Indeed, the strategies he used to grow Advanced Folio Capital Management and to advance professionally are centered around education and learning as much as possible in high impact subject areas in the financial field.

“By filtering out as much noise as possible and concentrating on the subject areas most pertinent to my clients has really propelled the educational level in crucial areas of need such as income planning, growth and risk mitigation strategies and so on.  The dialing down on the data and really understanding the data has been extremely helpful in explaining to clients their exact needs as we go through the planning process together.”

To ensure he’s bringing the latest knowledge to his clients Weschke cultivates and sustains strong relationships within his professional network. “By being attentive and on the same page with my professional network, we can all learn and grow together, and the result will be providing more value to the client,” he says. Professional conferences are another way that Weschke stays on top of any changes and new developments in the financial world. He attends four each year.

Leading by Example

Weschke’s leadership style is defined by the qualities he believes are essential for leadership – a dedication to your craft and field of study and the ability to foster a positive environment where everyone can learn and grow together.  He stresses that being able to make smart decisions rather quickly is very important for growth.

Good leadership involves handling the inevitable challenges that come with being a CEO and dealing with a variety of clients. “When faced with challenging clients we just make sure that we are doing our job as professionally as possible and giving the client what they asked for. It is important to carry yourself as professionally and with as much character as possible at all times. We treat others as we would want to be treated, that is our motto,” says Weschke.

“To inspire others we just make sure we are leading by example at all times,” Weschke says, and that includes inspiring employees. He recalls times when he was educating employees who had a limited mindset and were not organized. Weschke knows that trying to make employees change their work ethic and mindset is not effective. “You have to gain their trust and respect, which happens when they watch you work, and they really enjoy and respect that process of learning from someone who has already been in their shoes.”

Weschke adds, “If others can’t see the value you bring to the table, why would they want to follow you? I feel you must provide more value to the relationship for it to really work for all parties involved. We strive every day to provide the best service and communication and extreme value to everyone in our professional network as well as to all of our clients.”

For Eric Weschke, Advanced Folio Capital Management success is more than financial achievements. His top personal accomplishments include his 27-year marriage and being a father to two daughters. These are roles he considers central to his daily life.

Whether he’s working with clients, spending time with his family, or volunteering in his community, Weschke treats everyone with respect and sincerity. This mindset is a defining aspect of his career and that sets him apart as a financial advisor.
