Four people including an Egg Harbor Township juvenile are charged in the strong-armed robbery of an elderly woman outside the Acme supermarket in Somers Point, police said.

The 83-year-old victim was brutally attacked and her purse taken on Oct. 3, police said.

She fell to the ground, causing severe injury to her face, according to the affidavit read during one of the defendant’s first appearances in court Thursday.

Somers Point police worked around the clock to identify the culprits, including warranted searches of homes and a vehicle in Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Township, according to the report.

A 15-year-old township boy is charged with robbery, aggravated assault and theft. He is in the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.

Three others were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit theft, employing a juvenile to commit a crime and receiving stolen property.

Those charged are Maria DeSantis, 60, of Woodbine, along with Charles Oglesby Jr., 23, and Emily Labaco, 22, both of Atlantic City.

Oglesby was additionally charged with possession of a defaced firearm.

The three are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings set for Wednesday.
