An elderly woman was injured in a strong-armed robbery near the entrance to the Acme in Somers Point on Thursday.
The 83-year-old Somers Point resident was approached from behind, assaulted and her purse stolen at about 10:50 a.m., police said.
The suspect is described as a younger, possibly white male wearing a mask and dark clothing. No surveillance photos have been released at this time.
He fled the scene toward Bethel Road, according to the police report.
The victim was taken to Shore Medical Center for injuries sustained in the attack.
