Shore Medical Center has announced that Sharon Kissick, a nurse on its 5 Stainton Unit, is the July Guardian Angel of the Month.
Shore established the Guardian Angel program to enable community members to say “Thank you” to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center in their honor.
Kissick, a Somers Point resident, began her career at Shore in 2006 with the 5 Stainton Unit.
She provides care to a diverse range of patients with various medical needs. She is a skilled and knowledgeable nurse and a compassionate caregiver who takes the time to listen to her patients’ needs and concerns, according to a Shore news release.
Administrative Director of Nursing Jennifer Cressey praised Kissick’s character and work ethic.
“Sharon is devoted to her patients and her team. She is the type of person and peer you always want by your side. Sharon is not only dependable and resilient but, most of all, caring. Her unwavering dedication and positive attitude are assets to our team. We are incredibly proud to have Sharon,” Cressey said.
A patient recently made a Guardian Angel donation to the medical center in Kissick’s honor and had this to say about her:
“Sharon was very attentive and showed concern for my well-being. She also took the time to clarify the medical procedures and tests I had taken. Sharon is an exemplary nurse.”
Shore Medical Center’s Guardian Angel program provides an opportunity for patients and families to recognize anyone at Shore who makes a difference in their care or experience.
Guardian Angels are recognized among their peers and presented with a Guardian Angel pin at Shore’s annual pinning ceremony.
