Shore Medical Center’s School of Radiologic Technology graduated 18 students during a ceremony May 14 at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Mays Landing Campus.

The graduates included Lindsay Bechtler, Lisa D’Alessandro, Sarah Drongoski, Jessica Ellis, Ryan Gacayan, Steven Giradlo, Melinda Jones, Payton Jones, Sophia Leonard, Nicholas Panna, Kenley Pivola, Tara Torres, Phoebe Wade, Miranda Wilbert, Jessica Wright, Jocelyn Yarrow, Carley Young and Julie Young.

Following completion of the full-time, two-year program, students receive a certificate in Radiologic Technology and are eligible to apply for the National American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Examination (ARRT) and for state licensure.

Shore’s program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of X-ray Compliance.

The Bureau of X-Ray Compliance analyzed the performances of radiologic technology students throughout the State of New Jersey, and the students at Shore’s program ranked No. 1 in the state. All 18 graduates passed their boards on the first attempt and all secured employment within six months after graduation.

The Radiologic Technology program at Shore Medical Center cooperates with Atlantic Cape Community College to help prepare students for a career in medical imaging. The program meets the need of those students who desire certification and employment in the community as a Radiologic Technologist. The ARRT requires students on this career path to have a minimum of an associate degree from the accredited institution to take the ARRT Radiography certification exam.

The mission of this program is to provide a comprehensive and quality education in radiologic technology and to provide the community with competent and compassionate technologists.
