More than 4,000 cyclists join together each year during the event to battle MS.

Cyclists participating in the annual MS City to Shore Ride will follow a new route into Ocean City this year, along the Roosevelt Boulevard-34th Street entryway.

As a result, motor vehicle traffic on Roosevelt Boulevard and the 34th Street Bridge will be restricted to one lane on Saturday, Sept. 30.

Motorists are advised to use the Ninth Street Bridge and Route 52 causeway to travel to and from Ocean City on Saturday to avoid delays.

Previously, bikers participating in the MS City to Shore Ride would follow the Ninth Street Bridge into town, but the entry route has been shifted to 34th Street this year.

Thousands of cyclists participate in the annual fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which begins in Cherry Hill and finishes at the parking lot at Fifth Street and Boardwalk in Ocean City — with many of the riders staying overnight and returning the next day.

Motorists should also expect delays along a route for cyclists that travels from the 34th Street Bridge to West Avenue to Fifth Street.
