Oncology Pharmacist Tim Guse has been named Shore’s July Employee of the Month.

Guse has been with Shore Medical Center for 11 years. As the oncology pharmacist at Shore Cancer Center, he compounds and dispenses chemotherapy and other cancer-related medications.

He is passionate about oncology and enjoys educating patients about treatments and side effects, with a calm demeanor that helps alleviate their fears, according to a news release.

Guse enjoys being involved in all aspects of his patients’ care, from getting prior authorizations for treatment to administering medication.

Matt Piskun, director of Pharmacy, Oncology and Infusion Services, said Guse recently took on a leadership role during Shore Cancer Center’s complete electronic medical record overhaul. This massive, multi-disciplinary project took many months to plan, construct and implement.

“Tim quickly learned what was needed and then assumed responsibility for the formidable task of building treatment plans and regimens while supporting finance, nursing and other medical processes. He often came in on weekends to assure the project was successful and played a significant role in building the foundation of Powerchart Oncology,” Piskun said. “His hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.”

Guse lives in Marlton with his wife and son. In his spare time, he enjoys trips to New York City with his family to see Broadway shows, watching his son, Blaise, perform in theater productions, and doing his own performances in community theater.
