Low-income Atlantic County residents 60 years and older can request a $50 credit to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs at participating local farmers markets beginning July 3 through November 30.
The Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services will provide access and information to interested residents who meet the age and income eligibility guidelines established by the state: annual gross income that does not exceed $2,248 per month or $26,973 per year for a single person and $3,041 per month or $36,482 annually for a couple.
Residents may call 1-888-426-9243 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to request participation.
Unlike past years, no paper vouchers will be issued. Instead those who meet the requirements will receive a QR code that can be used at the time of purchases and will automatically track spending and remaining balances. QR codes are not transferable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
The $50 credit can be used all at once or in multiple purchases. Participation is on a first come, first served basis.
