Congressman Jeff Van Drew announced that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is planning to expand health care services in Atlantic County. The current Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Northfield will be relocating two miles away to Linwood.

The clinic is set to double in size to over 22,000 square feet, which will enable a much-needed expansion of critical services to South Jersey veterans. Health care services will be provided without interruption at the Northfield clinic throughout the design, construction and opening of the new clinic.

The Linwood clinic will have increased parking and transit access, making the new facility more accessible for patients.

“For the last four years, I have been actively involved in ensuring that this expansion of veteran health care services would come to fruition, and have fought relentlessly every step of the way,” Van Drew said in a news release.

He added, “We have thousands of veterans in South Jersey, and they deserve the highest quality of care, and now, our veterans will have access to three state-of-the-art clinics between Cape May, Cumberland, and Atlantic Counties. This is a huge announcement, and I am proud of the work we have accomplished to ensure our veterans have the care they deserve.”
