Before the dancing, dining and socializing came the part of the evening that leaves the most lasting impression — the red carpet.
Ocean City High School prom-goers didn’t let a little rain ruin their night as they sashayed, strolled, and sauntered down the red carpet inside the Flanders Hotel on Saturday night.
From tuxes to flowing gowns to everything in between, couples, friends and solos beamed as they each had their time in the spotlight, where they displayed their individual styles.
Professional photographers and spectators from school faculty to family and friends of the prom-goers clicked photos to capture the magical moment.
The event has been held at the historic hotel for years. Last year, the prom returned to the Flanders after a two-year hiatus.
In 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the red carpet was held at the high school and the prom took place outdoors at Carey Stadium. The COVID outbreak in 2020 forced the prom’s cancellation then.
Here are some of the photos from the monumental evening.
