The 70-member South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble will present a unique musical experience, “Timeless Impressions: Musical Footprints in the Sands of Time,” 7 p.m. Monday, April 24 at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology, 5080 Atlantic Ave. in Mays Landing.
Musical selections will include the exciting “Lawrence of Arabia,” featuring dance instructors from the Cygnus Dance Company, along with marches and a Mambo from West Side Story.
Internationally renowned composer Dr. Scott Watson will conduct several of his works, including “Aesop’s Fables,” which will be narrated by SJAWE Musical Director Keith W. Hodgson.
The audience will enjoy music, visual effects and participate in the encores.
Selected honors high school and college students from 15 area schools will perform in the second half of the concert.
Frank Kollman will serve as master of ceremonies and will present a $1,000 scholarship donated by the Alice Frankel Trust to a deserving student. Associate Conductor Ron Poorman and Assistant Conductor Jennifer Hodgson will also direct the ensemble.
