The Atlantic County Utilities Authority was recognized by the Association of Environmental Authorities of New Jersey during its recent 2023 Spring Utility Management Conference held at Caesars Casino & Hotel.

ACUA President Richard Dovey was honored for his 33 years of environmental leadership and dedication to the solid waste and wastewater industries. Dovey will officially retire from the ACUA on July 1.

Industry leaders from New Jersey Authorities, the Board of Public Utilities and Sustainable Jersey contributed to a video that was played during the ceremony thanking Dovey for his many accomplishments and wishing him well in his retirement.

Dovey is a past recipient of AEA’s prestigious Life Member Award. AEA’s Executive Director Peggy Gallos also presented Dovey with a letter of recognition from New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy.

“I am deeply honored by this recognition from the Association of Environmental Authorities,” Dovey said. “AEA is an incredible resource for authorities like the ACUA and has provided critical support over the years.”
