The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking accreditation from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.
A team of assessors will be on-site Friday, to examine all aspects of the Prosecutor’s Office policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.
“Verification by the team that the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office meets the commission’s ‘best practice’ standards is part of a voluntary process to achieve accreditation, a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence,” Prosecutor William E. Reynolds said in a news release.
As part of this final on-site assessment, employees and members of the general public are invited to provide comments to the assessment team.

Telephone comments are limited to five minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with the NJSACOP standards. A copy of the standards is available for inspection. Contact Agent Mark Cooker at 609-909-7881.
Administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with best practice standards in five basic areas: the administrative function, the personnel function, the operations function, the investigative function, and the arrestee/detainee function.
