Teen arts returns to the Arts District in downtown Hammonton on Wednesday, May 11.

The annual one-day festival invites Atlantic County students 13-19 to display their talents, meet with professionals and participate in workshops and activities in dance, theater, vocal music, instrumental music, film, photographer, creating writing and visual arts.

First held in 1969, the Atlantic County Teen Arts festival is part of a statewide multidisciplinary program in the fine and performing arts. Selections from the county festival will represent Atlantic County in the State Teen Arts exhibit.

“This festival showcases the extraordinary talents of our youth and provides participants with valuable feedback and guidance as they pursue their passions,” Executive Dennis Levinson said in a news release. “We appreciate the great support Teen Arts continues to receive from the Town of Hammonton and its Arts District.”

Teen Arts festival participants include students from any public or private school, as well as home-schooled students and those who are involved in extra-curricular private instruction. Nineteen schools and 1,100 students are registered this year.

The Atlantic County Teen Arts festival is sponsored by Atlantic County in collaboration with Stockton University, the Noyes Museum/Stockton, MainStreet Hammonton and other organizations within the Hammonton Arts District.
