Students enrolled in fall classes at Atlantic Cape Community College are about to receive a surprise in the form of three free credits.

Tuition is waived for three credits when students register for the fall semester at the in-county tuition rate. Students will be responsible for fees and materials.

The program is open to all students, new and existing. Those already enrolled in classes will receive a credit on their account.

This opportunity is made possible through funds from the Federal Government’s Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF).

Prior funds from this grant were used to erase debt for 1,258 Atlantic Cape students, which totaled more than $1.1 million in outstanding balances from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

The three free credits benefit is an opportunity for all students, especially those interested in learning a new skill set, continuing their education, or determining their career goals.

There are additional programs for those who register for classes this fall. Students who enroll in six (6) or more credits can receive a free laptop which is theirs to keep upon graduation. Additional aid is also available to students through COVID-19 emergency relief funds.

“We’re committed to ensuring that anyone who wants to attend college can do so,” said Atlantic Cape President Dr. Barbara Gaba. “Atlantic Cape is dedicated to serving the students of our community, and these programs will help ease some financial stress, allowing students to advance in their lives.”

Atlantic Cape is committed to providing quality educational opportunities that are both accessible and affordable. In addition to this timely benefit, the college also provides the Tuition-Free College program through the state of New Jersey, which is open to students who are registered for at least six credits and make under $65,000 per year.

Atlantic Cape is also hosting Fast Track Enrollment Days on August 2, 4, and 5th. New and returning students are welcome to visit the three campuses to learn more about the college’s new programs. Staff will provide one-on-one guidance for students and help them enroll for the fall semester.

Classes begin on August 30th. For more information and to apply, visit atlantic.edu/fall.
