There are multiple poles and live wires down in the area of Somers Point-Longport Boulevard (Route 152) due to Tropical Storm Elsa on Friday morning, the Longport Police Department reported.
Somers Point-Longport Boulevard will be closed (including the Cooper Bridge) until at least Saturday morning, according to the police department’s Facebook page.
Vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles wishing to travel into Somers Point will be turned around at the intersection of the Somers Point-Longport Boulevard and Ocean Drive traffic light or will need to travel on Ocean Drive into Ocean City.
Pedestrians and bicyclists are discouraged from traveling in this area due to the hazards that road and electrical crews are currently dealing with.
