AtlantiCare celebrated the release from the hospital of its 99th and 100th patients who had been treated for COVID-19.

Linda Goodman, of Mays Landing, left AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus, in Pomona, followed by Eliecer Miguel-Mendez, who left the ARMC Atlantic City Campus.

Healthcare providers and staff of both campuses lined the hallways as they thanked and congratulated the patients to the tune of “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles. See a video here.

“We only had a peek of sunshine in Atlantic County on this cloudy day,” said Dr. Edward Hamaty, chairman of Critical Care at AtlantiCare. “But inside the hospital campuses, smiles were shining brightly behind our masks. Our dedicated care team is pleased to honor these and all our patients and their families who have been impacted by COVID-19.”

He continued, “We urge the community to join us in recognizing them and all healthcare providers and essential workers by continuing to practice social distancing, masking in public, washing hands thoroughly, and seeking care for symptoms of COVID-19 and other illnesses.”
