Atlantic County COVID-19 Cases Rise to 75

Twenty-three county residents have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 as of Friday, according to the Atlantic County Division of Public Health.

With these additions, the total number of cases in Atlantic County now stands at 75.

The new cases include 10 men, ranging in age from 29 to 69 years old, and 13 women, ranging in age from 31 to 81 years old.

Public health officials also reported an additional six residents have been cleared as “recovered.”

The county previously reported five recovered patients.

Residents are reminded to remain vigilant and help reduce the spread of the virus by staying home and practicing safe respiratory and hygiene habits as well as to follow the recommended guidance for social distancing.

There is currently no vaccine or treatment for this virus. Those who experience mild or moderate symptoms such as fever, cough, aches and pains, are advised to stay at home, self-isolate and monitor their symptoms. Most recover within two or more weeks.

Those with more severe symptoms including fever, cough and shortness of breath, and who may have underlying health conditions including heart or lung disease, diabetes or a compromised immune system, should contact their medical provider.
