Greate Bay Country Club is located in Somers Point.

February is American Heart Month, and Shore and Penn Cardiology are joining together to offer a free breakfast and education event: “What You Need to Know About Heart and Vascular Health.”

The event is open to the public and will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11, 10 a.m. to noon at Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point.

The program will feature presentations from the following cardiovascular experts, each followed by a Q&A session:

  • Dr. Kamleish Persad, Penn Cardiology
  • Dr. Matthew Lawrence, Vascular Surgeon, Shore Physicians Group
  • Chris Kozmor, RN, M.Ed., Director, Shore Medical Center Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Topics covered will include preventing and treating heart disease, how a cardiac rehabilitation program can help after a heart event, and what peripheral artery disease is and how it is detected and treated.

Shore Physicians Group will host vascular screening clinics on Tuesday, Feb. 18 and Friday, March 20 at the Vascular Lab at 649 Shore Road. Attendees at this breakfast will be able to learn more about these screenings and schedule a screening time.

Guests will enjoy a continental breakfast, coffee and tea, giveaways and an opportunity to have their heart health questions answered. To RSVP, contact Jessica Giles at jgiles@shorephysiciansgroup.com or 609-653-3986.
