Shore Medical Center named Benita Vandervort, registrar in its Access Management Department, the medical center’s February Employee of the Month.
Vandervort started her career at Shore in 2005 in the housekeeping department, then transitioned to medical records where she worked behind the scenes in the medical records department for a decade.
Two years ago, she became an outpatient and same-day surgery registrar, where she is known by patients and colleagues alike for her warm welcomes and contagious smile.
An efficient multitasker, Vandervort seamlessly and compassionately supports patients through the registration process, helping to ease their minds along the way, Shore said in a press release.
Her commitment to excellence directly contributes to the productivity of her department, and her managers often recognize her for being a true team player, according to the release.
There are many things Vandervort loves about working at Shore, but for her, the best thing is being able to work so closely with patients and their families.
A resident of Mays Landing, Vandervort has three children – all born at Shore Medical Center. In the warmer months, they spend much of their time at the beach as a family.
