Sturdy Savings Bank will host a Mortgage Fair on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon at its Marmora and Rio Grande branch locations. Sturdy representatives encourage everyone who has been thinking about home ownership, but perhaps thought they might not qualify or be able to afford it, to attend.
A representative from Consumer Credit and Budget Counseling Inc., which is not an affiliate of Sturdy Savings, will provide no-obligation counseling on credit, financial and budgeting planning. Attendees can also learn more from Sturdy representatives about mortgage options and how to achieve home ownership as a first-time home buyer.
Available options include Sturdy Savings Bank First Time Home Buyer Loan Program, or combined with the First Home Club (FHC) grant program, which was launched by the Federal Home Loan Bank that offers an incentive for households with incomes at or below 80% of area median income to save towards the purchase of a new home.
“Our Mortgage Fair is designed to assist and educate our neighbors about their options and eligibility when it comes to homeownership,” said Sturdy Savings Bank President and CEO Gerald Reeves. “We also want the communities we serve to know we are a resource for them.”
Complimentary refreshments will be served. If interested in attending this free event, please RSVP to 609-463-5210 or e-mail fthbrsvp@sturdyonline.com. Space is limited. Please indicate if you will be attending the mortgage fair at the Marmora branch or the Rio Grande branch. The Marmora branch is located at 46 South Shore Road in Marmora; the Rio Grande branch is located at 3195 Route 9 South in Rio Grande.
