The Somers Point Police and Fire Departments invite the community to Patriots Park, Bethel Road and 1st Street in Somers Point, for a 9/11 commemoration ceremony on Tuesday.
The program begins at 8:30 a.m. A ceremonial bell will ring at 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m., the times the hijacked planes hit the twin towers in New York on Sept. 11, 2001.
The ceremony’s speaker, George McNally, will talk about the sacrifices police and fire personnel have made over the years.
American Legion Riders will also participate in the event. After the ceremony, the public is invited back to the American Legion Post 352 for coffee and doughnuts.
