Shore Medical Center is proud to recognize Hany Garcia, nurse aide on the hospital’s telemetry unit, as its January 2018 Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients. The Guardian Angel program was established to enable members of the community to say thank you to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center.
Garcia began working at Shore in May 2014, and in that time she has received countless accolades for her work. Luanne McGroarty, BSN, RN-BC, nurse manager of ICU and telemetry at Shore Medical Center, says Garcia presents each day with a smile and is helpful to anyone in need.
“Nothing asked of Hany is too much. She continuously strives to provide the best care possible, and always goes above and beyond for her patients, their families, and her coworkers,” said McGroarty.
Most recently, family members of two separate patients Garcia cared for made a special trip to the hospital to ensure that she was recognized for her outstanding patient care. One patient had these words to say about Garcia:
“We expect a hospital to give patients 100 percent care, but Hany gave me 110 percent, if not more! Hany exemplifies great nursing care. She should be proud of herself.”
Garcia resides in Pleasantville with her husband and two children.
