Program Director of Palliative Care Maureen Deely, APN-PC, of Sea Isle City, was named Shore Medical Center’s December 2017 Guardian Angel of the Month.

Shore Medical Center is proud to recognize Maureen Deely, APN-PC, program director of palliative care, as its December Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients. The Guardian Angel program was established to enable members of the community to say thank you to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center.

Deely, of Sea Isle City, came to Shore Medical Center in 2001 as a staff nurse in the emergency department, but eventually found her true calling as a certified hospice and palliative care nurse. As the champion of Shore’s Hospice and Palliative Care Programs, Deely makes it her mission to provide assistance to Shore’s sickest patients and their loved ones at the most difficult time in their lives. Her compassion and patient-centered focus have resulted in invitations to speak on a national stage. Maureen was also the recipient of the hospital’s prestigious DiOrio Award in 2015.

Shore Chief Medical Officer Jeanne Rowe, MD, says Deely is one of the most dedicated and compassionate people she knows.

“Maureen finds great reward in her work and considers it a sincere privilege to help her patients and their loved ones navigate a difficult time in their lives. We are fortunate to have someone like her in such an important role.”

Deely and her husband Kevin have seven children and 10 grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, her book club, volunteering and spending time with her family.
