Shore Medical Center is proud to recognize James McGovern, guest service representative with its dietary services department, as its May 2017 Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional care to Shore’s patients. The Guardian Angel Program was established to enable members of the community to say thank you to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center.
McGovern came to Shore Medical Center three years ago after working 27 years in the casinos, where he was a room service waiter, butler and dining room waiter.
McGovern’s supervisor, Paul Montesano, dining services director for Unidine Corporation, which operates Shore’s dining services, says McGovern is very professional in his interactions with patients and their family members.
“Jimmy is a very good worker who goes out of his way to care for the patients he serves,” said Montesano.
A family member of a Shore Medical Center patient wrote in to express appreciation for McGovern’s kindness.
“Jimmy really made a great impression on my wife and me. We enjoyed his daily visits and feel as though he really went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.”
McGovern lives in Somers Point with his wife. He is a proud grandfather who enjoys spending time with his grandson. He also enjoys traveling to see his son in San Diego and daughter in Puerto Rico, and loves to fish and go crabbing in his spare time.
The Guardian Angel program recognizes anyone who works at Shore Medical Center and makes an impact and difference in your care. Guardian Angels are recognized amongst their peers and are presented with a special Guardian Angel pin at Shore Medical Center’s annual pinning ceremony.
