Judi Knupp, who really enjoys dining out, has been looking forward to Somers Point Restaurant Week in November.
Now, the Somers Point resident has some extra money to splurge with at some of her favorite local restaurants.
Knupp is the winner of a $1,000 gift card in the Taste of Somers Point promotion sponsored by somerspoint.com.
“I have never won anything in my life before,” Knupp said, laughing. “It was truly amazing. Now, I’m going to enter everything I come across. I should buy a lottery ticket.”
The Taste of Somers Point gift card giveaway reflects a commitment to community events and news by somerspoint.com, said Michael Bray, owner of the Passion Vines Wine and Spirit Co. stores in Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township.
“I love the approach that Somerspoint.com is taking — community first,” Bray said. “They are reporting and highlighting relevant and significant stories, that engage both residents and businesses, and that really make for a vibrant community. The Taste of Somers Point contest is one initiative that demonstrates what they’re really doing to add value to our community.”
Knupp said she loves Somers Point’s small-town charms and bayfront views. She has lived at the Sunset Marina condominiums for six years. She is a “happily retired” nutritionist and pharmaceutical research worker.
Knupp said she relishes the town’s collection of gourmet and casual restaurants. With the seventh annual Somers Point Restaurant Week coming up Nov. 4-13, she plans to use her $1,000 gift card to visit some of her favorite places.
“We eat out in Somers Point all the time,” she said. “So we’ll definitely be out and about. There’s no lack of eating out.”
