Shore Auxiliary Donates $475,000 to Shore Medical Center

 The Auxiliary of Shore Medical Center marked another successful fundraising year with the presentation of a $475,000 donation to Shore Medical Center on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point, NJ.

The Auxiliary of Shore Medical Center is Shore’s original fundraising organization. Part of the Shore Medical Center Planned Giving and Development Department, the Auxiliary is made up of dedicated volunteers who work throughout the year on initiatives that include the hospital gift shop, thrift shops, golf tournaments and other community events. Since the Auxiliary’s inception in 1940, the Auxiliary has donated more than $12 million to Shore Medical Center.

Years of Service awards were presented to Auxiliary members, including Millie Traa of Egg Harbor Township, who received a pin for 30 years of service to the Auxiliary of Shore Medical Center.

Awards were also presented on behalf of the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Council on the Auxiliaries recognition program. Peggy Doyle of Ocean City received the Rookie of the Year award; Gloria McDermott of Seaville received the Catalyst of the Year award; and Patricia Crowley of Ocean City received the Recognition for Service & Dedication award.

In addition, the following Auxiliary members were installed as 2017 Executive Board Officers: Heidi Angelastro of Seaville, chairman; Brenda Martello of Egg Harbor Township, vice chairman; Delores Dengler Vitas of Petersburg, treasurer; Gloria McDermott of Seaville, recording secretary; Debra Westcott of Somers Point, corresponding secretary; and Patricia Crowley of Ocean City, membership chairman.
